Iranian born author, Firoozeh Dumas, wrote Funny in Farsi: A Memoir of Growing Up Iranian in America, a book of hilarious stories published in 2003 that was on the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle and Los Angeles Times bestseller lists and was a finalist for the PEN/USA award in 2004 and a finalist in 2005 for an Audie Award for best audio book. Her second book of stories, Laughing Without an Accent: Adventures of a Global Citizen (2008), also became a New York Times bestseller. In 2016, she published her first book of middle grade fiction, It Ain’t so Awful, Falafel. Her novel has received high praise from readers of all ages.

Speaking engagements will occur from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and again from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on March 6, 2017.
