The Mission College Chorus, accompanied by Christopher Pasillas and under the direction of John Ector presents the first of two chorus performances.

The first concert, on Tuesday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m. in Gillmor Center Room 103 (GC-103), is entitled “Music of the Spheres: An Exploration of Science Fiction Through Choral Music.” The concert will include the late David Bowie’s 1969 “Space Oddity” and Sir Elton John’s 1972 “Rocket Man,” featuring a poignant accompanying video by Iranian refugee Majid Adin and Irish animation director Stephen McNally.

The bulk of the concert commemorates the 40th Anniversary of the release of the seminal 1977 Science Fiction-themed concept album I Robot from the British progressive rock band the Alan Parsons Project.

The Mission Chorus will present choral and instrumental arrangements of “Some Other Time,” “Breakdown,” “Don’t Let It Show,” “Nucleus,” “Day After Day (The Show Must Go On),” “Total Eclipse,” and “Genesis Ch.1 V.32.”
